Industrial Glassware is located in southern New Jersey, an area with a long history of glassmaking. The first successful glasshouse in America was set up here in 1739 by German-born Caspar Wistar, and its success was most likely due to location. South Jersey's vast supply of pristine sand and the abundance of forests, used as fuel for the glass furnaces, made this an ideal area for glassmaking. To this day the glass industry still dominates our local economy.
